The Brewing Industry International Awards (BIIA), popularly known as “the Oscars of the brewing industry”, being held in Burton upon Trent on 9th – 11th February 2011, announces a truly international Chairman of Judges.
Bill Taylor, Chief Brewer of Lion Nathan an Australasian premium alcoholic beverages company with operations in Australia and New Zealand will be leading the competition judging in its 125th year.
Bill has embraced the opportunity to join the team responsible for rejuvenating the competitions and ensuring the continued prestige and integrity of judging previously overseen by former Chairman of Judges, Roger Putman.
Taylor said “I am delighted to have the opportunity to assist the evolution of these Brewing Industry International Awards and build on the strong foundations of my predecessors. The competition has a unique and historic significance for the brewing industry and the public”.
In preparation for the Awards, Bill has brought together an international team of brewers, as a Judging Committee, with a remit to review and develop the judging standards; judging process; entry requirements in order to establish the framework for this Competition.
