The Brewing Industry International Awards (BIIA), popularly known as “the Oscars of the brewing industry”, being held in Burton upon Trent on 8th – 10th February 2011, announce a truly international Chairman of Judges.
Bill Taylor, Chief Brewer of Lion Nathan an Australasian premium alcoholic beverages company with operations in Australia and New Zealand will be chairing judging of the competition in its 125th year.
Bill has embraced the opportunity to join the Steering Group responsible for rejuvenating the competitions and ensuring the continued prestige and integrity of judging ensured by Roger Putman in the past.
Bill has brought together a team of international brewers, ensuring full representation of the USA, UK, Europe and pan Pacific basin:
Geoff Larson, Alaskan Brewing Company, USA
Dr George Philliskirk of the Brewing Academy, UK
Dr. Frithjof Thiele, Radeberger Gruppe KG, Europe
The Judging Committee has a remit to review and develop the judging standards; judging process; entry requirements in order to establish the judging framework for this Competition.
